    Welcome!

We invite you to join us on this unique pilgrimage to Ireland. You will see, touch, and experience the places of related to our Catholic faith;  rich in history, beauty and tradition.

The Catholic Church in Ireland is the largest Christian church in Ireland; with 3.5 million members.  Ireland has given us many Saints such as St. Patrick, St. Columbanus, St. Brigid and others. Plus we will spend time at a Marian Apparition site:  Our Lady of Knock.

A pilgrimage is a journey of faith; offering the pilgrim many opportunities.

Pilgrim Center of Hope has organized and led close to 100 pilgrimages to date, in which we apply our professional backgrounds in the travel & hospitality industries and nearly 40 years in ministry; our experience will greatly benefit you as a pilgrim. Through the many groups we have led, we have seen that a pilgrimage is truly an eternal investment with everlasting rewards. We are committed to ensuring each pilgrim’s maximum experience, so space is limited. We hope that you will join us! May the Holy Spirit guide your discernment process. We welcome your call with any questions, at 210-521-3377 and invite you to visit our website, PilgrimCenterOfHope.org

Father Steven Anthony Gamez is a native of San Antonio, Texas. He is the third of four children. In the United States Navy, he served aboard the U.S.S. Pioneer MCM-9 Avenger-class mine countermeasures ship, and after the Navy used his military benefits (G.I. Bill) to attend Santa Fe Community College and eventually completed an Associates of Applied Science in semiconductor manufacturing in 1997.

Concerning his vocation to the priesthood, he first approached his parish priest at Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church, on the westside of San Antonio, who counseled him and put him in contact with the vocation director for the Archdiocese of San Antonio in 1998. He began his official seminary training in 2000 at Holy Trinity Seminary in Dallas, Texas, and graduated from the University of Dallas in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Letters. He then moved back to San Antonio to begin his master's degree studies at Assumption Seminary and Oblate School of Theology and graduated with a Masters of Divinity in May 2008.

He was ordained a priest May 17, 2008 at San Fernando Cathedral by the Most Rev. Jose Gomez and named Pastor of St. Philip of Jesus Church in 2011, administrator of St. Henry Church in 2014, and administrator of St. Benedict Church in 2016. Leaving the three parishes, on July 1, 2016 he became pastor of St. Rose of Lima Church and served there on the far west side of San Antonio for 5 years. He is currently the pastor of Sts. Peter and Paul parish in New Braunfels, TX.

Father Steven has previously served as a Pilgrim Center of Hope pilgrimage chaplain to the Holy Land and Italy.  He looks forward to offering Mass, spiritual reflections, and the Sacrament of Reconciliation for pilgrims who wish to receive it during this journey of faith.
