CLASSICAL AFRICA EDUCATIONAL TOUR IXX
KEMET (ANCIENT EGYPT)
June 7-21, 2025
Manu Ampim is a noted historian and primary (first-hand) researcher specializing in Africana Studies. He earned a Masters of Arts degree in History & African American Studies from Morgan State University in 1989. He is the Director of Advancing The Research in Oakland, CA.
Teaching Career:
He has taught in the Department of History at Morgan State University (Baltimore, MD), and at San Francisco State University in the Department of Ethnic Studies. Also, Ampim has studied at Oxford University in England, and collaborated on a NASA-sponsored research project, which examined the ancient climate and migration patterns in Africa. Since 2006, Prof. Ampim has taught History and Africana Studies at Contra Costa College (San Pablo, CA). He also teaches a pioneering 7-Step Primary Research Methodology Course at Advancing The Research.
Pioneering Field Research:
For the past 37 years, Prof. Ampim has taken educational tours to North Africa and Central America. In addition, in 1989-1990 he conducted an extensive 13-country research tour to all of the major museums, institutes and libraries throughout America, Europe and Canada, which house ancient Egyptian, Nubian, and Kushite artifacts. Since the 1990s, he has completed various field research projects in Egypt, Nubia, Ethiopia, Sudan, and South Sudan to continue his primary research at dozens of indigenous communities and field sites to study ancient African social organization and spiritual culture, observe cultural retentions, document modern forgeries, and to record the vanishing evidence of classical African civilizations in the Nile Valley. His latest mission since 2011 has been to organize the Save Nubia Project (SNP) to help preserve the archaeological sites of ancient Kush and Nubia in the Sudan, which are threatened by the ongoing construction of a series of dams. The SNP collective has helped lead this effort in saving the remains of the classical Kushite and Nubian civilizations in Sudan, and other areas of northeast Africa. Ampim’s body of work for more than three decades has earned him the recognition as one of the leading scholars on ancient African culture and contributions to the world.AdvancingTheResearch.orgPersonally Escorted by Prof. Manu Ampim

Some 4 1⁄2 miles south of the earlier Dam, the High Dam rises up on a colossal scale. The Pyramid of Khufu could be lost 17 times over in this modern structure. The inland lake created by the Dam is more than 340 miles long, penetrating some 155 miles into the Sudan, and it submerged 39 Nubian villages and countless archaeological sites. Proceed to Pilak (Philae). When the Aswan Dam was opened from July to November, the resulting drop in water level was such that the Temple of Isis on the Island of Philae rose up out of the waters. During the remaining months of the year, only pylons and the upper sections of the building could be seen. In the 1960s, all monuments on the Island of Philae were transferred to the small island of Agilkia nearby and rebuilt there. Visit the Temple, the oldest parts of which date from the 4th century BCE. Ptolemies and Romans added to the Temple over the years until the 2nd century CE. Return to the hotel via the Pink Granite Quarry where the ancient Africans obtained their fine pinkish granite. There lies the Great Temple, hewn in the rock, with the four colossal seated statues of King Ramses II in front of the entrance. It was dedicated to Amen-Ra, the Re-Horkhti, and Ramses II. The figures are 65 1⁄2 feet high and wear the double crown. Nearby, to the north, is a second temple, also built by Ramses II and dedicated to his wife Nefertari. The temples, which were threatened by the waters on the completion of the Aswan High Dam, have been preserved by international action organized by UNESCO. The most important parts of the temples (statues, inscribed slabs, etc) have been rebuilt on a plateau above the former site. Return to Aswan.

An Unforgettable Journey Through KEMET/Ancient Egypt: A 5-Star Review
The Consolidated Tours Organization provided an amazing and unforgettable journey of Kemet/Ancient Egypt! Led by Professor Manu Ampim, a leading expert in Classical African Civilizations, the tour exceeded all expectations! My husband had taken the trip years prior and had a positive life changing experience. He strongly encouraged me to go. Finally, we were able to travel together and it was a dream come true. After studying and teaching about KEMET for years, to actual gaze at the pyramids, walk through the tombs and read the Medu Neter on the temple walls was a reality beyond what I imagined. While many tours confine themselves to Cairo, this incredible itinerary took us on a breathtaking journey through the heart of ancient Egypt, visiting Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, and even the awe-inspiring Abu Simbel.
The true highlight was the unique cultural immersion. Through the personal connections of Professor Manu and our knowledgeable guides, we dined with the Nubian people on the Nile River, experiencing their warm hospitality and vibrant culture firsthand. Every visit to the pyramids, temples, tombs, museums, and other historical sites was enriched by in-depth knowledge delivered through primary research and meticulous documentation. Slides with discussion reviewing the daily tour in addition to a preview of what was in store for the next day were shared each evening. They shared fascinating insights that left me feeling like a paleoanthropologist myself!
The accommodations were top-notch, with luxurious hotels boasting excellent amenities like spas, massages, and a diverse selection of culinary delights, even for discerning vegans like myself. Air-conditioned tour buses ensured comfortable travel, and security measures were always in place, providing peace of mind throughout the journey. Furthermore, the tour presented excellent shopping opportunities, allowing us to bring home unique souvenirs and treasures. This was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I highly recommend this tour to anyone seeking an enriching and unforgettable journey through the wonders of KEMET/Ancient Egypt with facts based on primary research.

In the Summer of 2008, I had the pleasure of going to Kemet with Professor Manu Ampim and I enjoyed seeing and being in Mother Africa for the first time. I was excited to go to Kemet with the Professor because I had taken his class at Merritt College in Oakland and wanted to see the great sites that Nubian Africans had built. The only thing that was missing was my wife, but we traveled together in 2023 that made the experience a trip of pleasure and educational trip of my life. We enjoyed the travel experience with the Professor through Consolidated Tours of Atlanta, Georgia, the amenities were wonderful and fit for a Pharaoh, and we experienced great food and people beyond what I thought it would be. We stayed in 5 star hotels and traveled in air conditioned buses with plenty of leg room and comfort. The experience was a great chance to see things for the second time for me and I learned different lessons the second time around!
The Professor is one of the best Teachers I’ve ever learned from and everyone I know enjoyed traveling with the Professor and Consolidated Tours. In closing, I must recommend this Tour to everyone who wants correct knowledge and experience Primary Research to take all the trips with this man, Professor Ampim. You will receive more knowledge, visit more sites, and enjoy the trip with no regrets. Thank you for everything I learned through your teachings and may Jah bless you and the people of Consolidated Tours! Thank you!

My experience on Professor Manu Ampim’s Classical Africa Educational Tour was nothing short of transformative. What sets this tour apart is the unparalleled value of Professor Ampim’s primary research. His dedication to uncovering and preserving the truths of African history through direct fieldwork is both inspiring and deeply impactful. Witnessing his meticulous approach to documenting artifacts, inscriptions, and architectural wonders was a masterclass in scholarly rigor.
As a mentee, I had the privilege of learning invaluable research and documentation techniques under his guidance. He didn’t just impart knowledge but ensured the process was engaging and accessible. Professor Ampim’s ability to balance professionalism with genuine enthusiasm made the learning experience both enjoyable and meaningful.
Beyond the academic and intellectual rewards, the tour had a profound spiritual dimension. Exploring sites with Professor Ampim’s insights allowed me to connect more deeply with the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of Kemet. His professionalism and respect for the significance of each location added layers of authenticity and reverence to the journey.
This tour was a life-changing opportunity to learn from one of the most dedicated scholars of Classical African Civilizations. I wholeheartedly recommend that ANYONE seeking both knowledge and inspiration, embark on this transformative experience.

I can say from my first hand experience, that I’ve learned far more about the greatness of “Kemet” (KMT), so called “Egypt” than any of the books and documentary’s that I’ve read/watched over the years. Not only did I find that the information has been proven to be in accurate in those books and documentary series, but based on the evidence provided by Professor Manu Ampim’s lectures live in the field, I find the evidence to be compelling that proves falsification's are deliberately presented in many ways to manipulate and deAfricanize the many great African accomplishments and the contributions that Kemet has brought to the world.
I’m fortunate to have attended this tour not once, but twice, once in 2018, and in 2022. I felt it was a necessity to return with Professor Manu Ampim because the tour was extremely informative and eye opening, to be frank, “life changing”. I’ve reviewed many tours by others, but none of them are going to the many different locations aside from tourism locations that provided our group the benefit of opportunity to visit the native people in remote locations allowing them to tell their story/history directly as they’ve lived it. My favorite parts of the tour was the many live welcoming home traditional performance’s, museums decoded based on false representations and debunking them with the accurate information based on the massive evidence he displays, the boat rides to many different villages which encapsulates the full intimate experience, and most of all, the well presented lectures based on what we’ve seen that day along with what’s going to be shown the following days of the tour.
I HIGHLY recommend Professor Ampim’s educational tours. I was so impressed with how much I’ve learned on his tour, I’ve also attended his tour to the land o”f Kush” so called Ethiopia this past July 2024. It was also breath taking studying what Professor has developed and coined “kushology”. All the information in his books we were able so see it in person and its validity. The hotels were great, food, temples, and over all experience was a phenomenal. Again, I highly RECOMMEND everyone to look into his books likewise attend his very special and unique tours. Finally, how I can’t forget the music on the tour bus and the dancing as well. Wonderful experience, and a must see for yourself.

The Classical Africa Educational Tour is a master class and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity encompassing fine hotels and dining. Professor Manu has dedicated his life to ensuring that people are equipped with the knowledge that institutions have historically forbidden. The top experience was visiting a local Nubian village- I am constantly reminded that we spent time and ate with some of the oldest human beings to inhabit this earth and to see their culture survive amid destruction and chaos; they still hold onto each other and maintain their way of life like many of us of the African diaspora tend to do.
As I'd like to think of him, Manu is an eclectic intellectual who centers this classical tour on safety, community-building, hospitality, primary and field research, supporting locals and their economy, African-centered teaching, art, and theory, and his uncompromising love for teaching and leading people. Throughout this tour, Professor Manu engulfed his Pyramid Warriors (The name we adopted for our group during the Summer 2022 Ancient KMT Tour) into an immersive educational experience that allowed us all to reflectively and retrospectively reminisce, re-imagine and imagine the past, present, and future of KMT and humanity entirely.

I was fortunate enough to attend Professor Manu’s Kemet Tour in 2022. To this day, I still describe that trip as “life changing.”
You will see things you’ve only ever viewed from books or seen on TV. I have so many pictures and videos in my camera from our adventures. Once you start to hear the history and significance of what you’re witnessing, you’re going to want to document it. I’ve gone back to my trip photos several times to share with others.
Professor Manu will show you wonders you won’t see with anyone else. He has done the research to know what’s imperative to share with his tour. He will pack the day full of exploration. Besides your camera, I highly recommend a notepad to write things down. At the end of each day he will review the sites you visited to help recap the day for you. This is when I wrote the majority of my information from the trip.
Hotel accommodations and food were great. Travel to all locations is included in your package. You won’t have to plan a thing. Just show up with a positive attitude ready to soak in the day of learning. Our tour had a mix of young adults and elders. We all looked out for one another and bonded through our joint experiences. I highly recommend Professor Manu’s Kemet Tour to all. I hope to attend another trip with him in the near future.

As did I, embark on a transformative journey of African "ourstorical" truth when you travel back in time to ancient Kemet with Professor Ampim.
Extremely helpful are the informative sessions before hand. If one adheres to the advice given they will be well prepared for the physical & educational vigor of this uniquely engaging voyage.
This expedition isn't merely the physical journey to various locations in "Egypt", it's crux is the reclamation & restoration of the Divine African Spirit. As one enters temples & sites of Sacred Sciences, effortlessly be transmuted into one that is a student on the way to mastery of self. As our prime instruction found etched in the temple of Amun; The Kween/Kingdom of heaven is within you; and whomever knows her/himself shall find it, journeying to Kemet with Professor Ampim is a mission of self-discovery for both the novice & seasoned in Kemetic studies.

Professor Manu Ampim’s Kemet tour is an extraordinary journey into the heart of Ancient African Civilization, offering profound insights into the legacy of Kemet (Ancient Egypt) and its enduring influence on human history. As a renowned scholar and cultural historian, Professor Ampim skillfully bridges the past and present, bringing to life the majesty of the pyramids, temples, and historical artifacts with clarity and passion. His depth of knowledge and dedication to truth-telling illuminate often-overlooked aspects of African contributions to global civilization.
What sets this tour apart is Professor Ampim's ability to contextualize ancient achievements within a broader narrative of African ingenuity, resilience, and influence. Through his engaging storytelling and thought-provoking analysis, participants gain not only a deeper appreciation for Kemet's grandeur but also a renewed understanding of its relevance today. This tour is an enriching experience that inspires pride, curiosity, and a profound connection to African heritage.

This trip to Kemet with Professor Ampim was one of the best trips of my life. My obsession with history was satisfied completely by all the buildings, temples, tekhenu(if you know you know), pyramids, and tombs that we saw. Not to mention the seemingly never ending natural beauty of the Nile. We also had an amazing tour guide named Imad who was knowledgeable, understanding, kind, and funny. The professor showed us and taught us about almost everything he had time for, and we spent entire days exploring sites that other tours will not even mention! It was just look and go either, we would receive in depth explanations of almost everything we saw, and no questions were left unanswered. I was much younger than my fellow travelers but it made no difference in terms of my enjoyment. I felt immediately accepted by my African brothers and sisters from all over the US, and by the time we were halfway through the trip, it didn’t feel like I had just met these people. It felt like I was traveling with family(in a good way). If you are interested in Kemet, true African history, or even just traveling in general, I would definitely recommend this trip, as it is an eye-opening, life changing experience which I am immensely grateful that I had the opportunity to go on. Professor Manu is one of the best professors I’ve had, and I am so thankful he brought me on this trip.

My dream was forfilled June 2023, at the backdrop of the Sacred Mountains, Felucca boats and simmering stars. The affirmation to our earthly presence clearly identifies the grandeur of the original Black race, to be embedded into rock structures images of God's, Goddesses, Pharaoh's and Queens in ceremonies priestly rites.
One profound image that stands alone is the natives ability to manipulate their traffic crossings as if they had magical wings traveling across the highway in front of fast moving cars. All in all, the journey led to a deeper level of Spirituality, a loving partner and really great like minded Royal Family Comrades.

I traveled to Kemet in 2022 with Professor Manu and Ampim and it was the best trip of my life. We visited so many historic sites, temples and museums and each day was another fantastic exploration. This tour way beyond my imagination. You have to experience it to believe it. We also had a nice group of travelers on our tour and that made it more fun. One last thing if you’re gonna travel on this tour make sure you have lots of energy! 5 Stars

My 2024 tour with my friend and brother Manu Ampim was the best tour to Kemet I've been on. I went to to Kemet on two other occasions with the Association for the Study of Classical African Civilizations (ASCAC) in 1996 and 2007, with some of our best African scholars of the time. But I must say I learned more with the professor this time in 2024. We were briefed on what to expect in advance but the tour was much more. The accomodations were excellent and every thing was timely. I plan to come again with the professor and this time I will be more prepared to learn more. Our brother is one of the best scholars of our time on Classical African Civilizations, and a warm, kind, no nonsense brother. The money is worth every dime. Don't miss the opportunity if it's available to you

From the spiritual, educational and physical challenge, this journey to one of the cradles of civilization was one of the most exciting and rewarding travel experiences I ever had. The itinerary, flights, hotel stays, transportation and daily schedules were very organized, so be ready for a full days of excitement. This is not a vacation tour. It is an interactive, fun, challenging at times, journey back in time. There will be plenty of good food and water to sustain your energy and five star accommodations to rest you up for the each day’s adventure. This is an archaeological, anthropological historical, cultural treatise for us by us. Professor Manu is knowledgeable, well connected to the people of Khemet on a personal and professional level. He does not leave his students with assistants. He is with you the whole journey. There is no other greater gift to yourself.
